Mediterranean diet – The traditional Greek diet
Having the privilege to be Mediterranean people, and thus to live in abundance in fruits, vegetables, cereals and olive oil in our diet, let’s support these foods and join the pyramid of the Mediterranean diet.
The Mediterranean diet pyramid describes today a food model, famous for its taste and its benefits to health. Thus according to this model, we should consume daily fruits and seasonal vegetables, olive oil, whole wheat cereals and their products (eg pasta, bread), and milk, while fish and poultry should be consumed 3-4 times a week.
Certainly a proper diet includes other items such as regular meals, adequate water intake and to avoid large quantities of alcoholic beverages.
