Attention to salt
We know that the hypertensive person is asked to stop any “relationship” with salt. What is the amount of salt suggested to healthy adults so that their blood pressure is not affected negatively?
Healthy adults should eliminate the consumption of sodium (and we refer to the sodium which is component of salt, that affects the pressure) to 2.400 mg daily. This amount corresponds to one teaspoon of salt daily.
If we think that most foods that we use in our daily diet contain natural salt or as additional a significant amount of sodium and we add the extra sodium from salt we put in food during their cooking preparation, we understand how much care is needed.
